On June 11th we joined with a few other folks from the United Church, where we meet regularly on Wednesday evenings, to cruise the Matanzas Inlet with Captain Adam Morley on the Litter Gitter. According to the Matanzas Riverkeeper website, the Litter Gitter is a program that takes members of our community out on the river to remove trash from our waterways and to learn about the issues surrounding marine debris and litter. Captain Morley and his bright yellow, 24 foot skiff, works to ensure that our local waterways stay clean and healthy while giving volunteers like us an opportunity to get their hands dirty and to do their part.
